Priorities

Care & Repair England closed in April 2022

Care & Repair England's priority was to reduce the number of older people living in poor or unsuitable homes, particularly lower income older home owners for whom there is so little help available.

To achieve this we

  • Worked with older people to identify what helps them to live independently and well in their own homes for longer. We then promoted and supported the development of effective housing solutions

  • Raised awareness of the scale and impacts of poor and unsuitable housing on the health and wellbeing of older people.
